James has been a photographer for over a decade, shooting professionally for the last seven years. Starting out in mountain biking, he cut his teeth covering regional, national and international racing, with work published in print and online. His experience now covers a diverse range of other genres, including news, music, portraiture, documentary… and sandwiches. He’s been twice recognised as the top student photographer in Scotland by The Herald, named amongst the best young photographers in Britain by The Times, and is a proud alumni of the renowned Glasgow University Guardian, where he spent three years as photographer, picture editor, and editor-in-chief. James is based in the heart of Edinburgh, but will travel pretty much anywhere.
